150th Mahatma Gandhiji Jayanthi celebrations at Agricultural College, Sircilla

The 150th Jayanthi celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi are held today at Agricultural College, Sircilla to commemorate his sacrifices and contributions towards the Indian freedom struggle. The staff and students as part of National Service Scheme (NSS) participated in Fit India programme, which was launched by the Govt. of India in view of the occasion of 150th Mahatma Gandhiji jayanthi celebrations. The objective of the movement is to encourage people have healthy living with daily physical activities like jogging/walking and also collecting the waste material in their surroundings and disposing the same in order to achieve the objective of the important movement of Fit India. With this motive, the staff and students organized a friendly jog from the agricultural College, Sardapur to Sainagar of Sircilla town (approx. 2km) raising the slogans on the importance of cleanliness and environment protection. After the Fit India plog run Gandhi jayanthi celebrations held in the college wherein all the staff, students and outsourced personnel participated. While speaking on the occasion the OISA, Mr. T. Arunbabu briefed about the bapuji emphasizing his role in the independence struggle mainly the core values and principles advocated by him. The staff and students offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.
