DAATTC, Karimnagar organized Method Demonstration on Stem Application in Cotton - in Rajanna Sircilla District on 30-07-2020

DAATTC, Karimnagar has organized method demonstration on Stem Application in cotton field of Sri.Seelam Srinivas of Thadagonda village, Boinpally mandal, Rajanna Sircilla District. Sri. K. Shekar, Coordinator, DAATTC, Karimnagar explained the importance of stem application in cotton to reduce the cost of cultivation in spraying as more quantity of pesticides doses increase risk of human beings to the hazardous chemicals, indirect toxic effect on the beneficial insects and other creatures. As a part of Pink boll worm management in cotton Pheromone traps were installed in the farmers fields and with these traps explained the monitoring of the pest incidence in cotton. Crop Protection Scientist, Sri. V. Ratnakar demonstrated the method of mixing of insecticide flonicamid + water at 1:20 ratio at 45 days’ age of the crop for control of early stage sucking pests. A group discussion was conducted, in this Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy emphasized farmers of the village on precautionary measures while spraying and installing pheromone traps. Around 25 farmers were participated.
