KVK, Palem organized a virtual meeting on best management practices in Paddy on 28-07-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem and Coromandel International Limited (CIL) jointly organized a virtual meeting with the innovative farmers on best management practices in paddy on 28.07.2021. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem presented importance of nutrients, water and weed management practices in Rice. Stressed about direct sowing, machine transplanting and drum seeding methods of rice cultivation. Mr. M. Rajashekhar (SMS-Plant protection) given presentation on integrated pest management (IPM) aspects, insisted farmers to follow the IPM practices like installation of pheramone traps, alternate wetting & drying mode of irrigation, need based application of nitrogenous fertilizers and conservation of natural enemies like spiders & predatory beetles. Farmers raised questions on nutrients deficiency & pest incidence in paddy. A total of 62 farmers and Coromandel International staff were participated.
