As a part of Poshan Maah nutritional awareness programme was organized at Gudlanarva village of Bijnapally mandal on 10.09.2020. As a part of program fruits and vegetables were exhibited like apple, sweet lime, pomegranate, banana, leafy vegetables and protein products like eggs and milk was also displayed. Dr.Afifa Jahan, SMS (Home Science) has elaborately explained about each product along with its nutritional composition. The nutritional importance to vulnerable groups like infants, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers were explained. The importance of consumption of nutritional diets with locally available materials to attain nutritional security was focused in the training. Dr.Afifa Jahan also explained about foods rich in iron like liver, jaggery, dates etc., and importance of vitamin c for absorption of iron. The menu planning and meal timings for ameliorating anemia were indebt explained to farm women and ASHA workers. The importance of PM Shri Narender Modi motive on Poshan Maah Nutritional moth was explained. Dr.Sameer Kumar, Principal Scientist (Millets), Dr. Maheshwaramma, Scientist (millets), Smt. Saradha (MPTC), Shri Mahesh (Sarpanch), smt. Balamani (Panchayat secretary), smt. Sudhar Rani (Teacher), Smt. Vanaja (ANM), 3 ASHA worker and 3 Anganwadi workers along with 35 farm women attended the meeting. Dr.Afifa Jahan distributed fruits to all trainees in collaboration with ICICI Foundation.
