State Level Technical Programme (SLTP) 2020-21 of PJTSAU at University Auditorium on 28-05-2020

The 3-day State Level Technical Programme (SLTP) 2020-21 of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University is begins at the University Auditorium on 28-05-2020. Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU attended as Chief Guest for the inaugural session and spoke on this occasion. While speaking at the SLTP Dr V.Praveen Rao has stated that, the biggest challenge before the university is to tune its research activities with the public policy to make the agriculture is more profitable and enhance the income of the farmers in the state. Vice Chancellor said that, the agriculture production should be a market oriented production. The reforms in agricultural sector has ensured the irrigation facility for about 98 lakh acres at present and the government is planned to raised to 1.10 crore acres by the year end he said. With the increased irrigation facility in the state there is need to encourage the farmers to grow the alternative and more profitable crops for ensuring of high income he said. Presently Telangana State is short of production in Vegetables, Oil seeds and Pulses. In other crops state is self sufficient he said. There is a need to characterize the production base in all the crops says the Vice Chancellor. Dr R Jagadeeshwar, Director of Research has presented the research activities of 2019-20. The University Officers Dr J Satyanarayana, Dr K.Anandsingh and Dr D. Ratnakumari were also present.
