Agricultural Education Day at Agricultural College, Siricilla

Agricultural College,Sircilla commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Republic of India, as Agriculture Education Day on 3 December 2019 at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential school, Sircilla. Mr. T. Arunbabu briefed the importance of the programme and said that India is basically Agriculture dependent nation and 62% of the population was directly depending on Agriculture for their livelihood. Development of Agriculture in the Nation is to be more concentrated and the present generation of students is must aware on Agricultural Education and they need to show interest on the profession. Dr. Razia Sultana, In-charge of Associate Dean had mentioned that farmers are cultivating the crops, but with including the scientific methods the agriculture is to be more beneficial. She explained that the event was organized to educate School students and encourage them to choose agriculture as a profession by explaining the job prospects such as Scientists and Agri-enterpreneurs in agriculture and allied sectors. As part of celebration the college has organized an exhibition for showcasing different exhibits related to Crop production, Soil Science, Agril. Engineering, Entomology, Horticulture, Agril. Extension and Crop physiology to the students. Students has shown keen interest on activities involved in Agricultural education. In the programme a total of 120 students from the school and teaching and supporting staff from Agricultural college Sircilla has participated.
