Agricultural Education Day Celebration at College of Agriculture, PJTSAU Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on 03-12-2019

The Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has celebrated the Agricultural Education Day at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 03-12-2019. Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU along with Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, PJTSAU has formerly inaugurated the Exhibition which was organized part of the Education Day for showcasing of prospects in agricultural sector, Teaching, Research and Extension activities of PJTSAU. Later, Vice Chancellor has interacted with the students who have visited the exhibition. While interacting with them Dr .V. Praveen Rao, has told about the importance of Agricultural education day. He said that, the main objective behind organizing the Education day is to educate school students and encourage them to choose agriculture as a profession by showing the Research and Teaching and Extension activities as well as job prospects in agriculture sector. He further said that, about 60 percent of the population is directly depends on agriculture for their livelihood. Agriculture sector has lot of opportunities for innovative and intellectual young students he added. Dr Kalpanshastry, Professor, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad has delivered the lecture on "Importance of Agriculture in Human life and role of National development". The Agricultural Education Day was celebrated in commemoration of the birth anniversary of the first president of India Dr Babu Rajendraprasad. About 1000 students from various schools located in and around Rajendranagar were visited the exhibition. The program was witnessed by Member Board of Management Dr. A. Manohar Rao, Registrar Dr S Sudheer Kumar, Dean of PG Studies Dr K.V.S. Meenakumari, Associate Dean College of Agriculture Dr Seema, several faculty members and students were attended.
