Athithi Home for Mentally Challenged Kids visit by Staff and Students of Agricultural College, Warangal on 04-02-2020

It is said that “The civilized person is judged by how well he responds to the needs of the less fortunate.” Associate Dean Dr. T. Ramesh along with the staff and students of Agricultural College, Warangal visited ATHITHI HOME FOR MENTALLY CHALLENGED KIDS at KU Cross, Warangal on 04.02.2020. The kids of the home welcomed us with happy faces and broad smiles. Kids in the home numbering 60 are provided with residential facility and the facility is extended to day scholars too. The kids include orphans, semi-orphans and missing cases. The ashram offers bridge classes and vocational training. Smt.Sujatha manages the home supported by few other staff members. Home has been working hard to improve the lives of mentally challenged children. Speech, behavior and talents of students who had been associated with the home since 10 years have been improved. Kids on the other hand were very talented and showcased their singing and dancing abilities. Kids also won prizes in sports and cultural events at the district and state level in competitions conducted among various other homes. Management of the home expects financial help from the visitors to meet their routine requirements and wants to expand their service to more number of kids. Staff and students promised to help and support the home and also proposed to celebrate special occasions with the mentally challenged children. In today’s event, fruits and biscuits were distributed to the kids by the students. Dr. J. Bhargavi, Dr. J. Kamalakar, Er. M. Srinivasulu, Dr. N. Hema Sharath Chandra and Dr. A. Samarpitha participated in the event.
