Awareness programme on crop diversification in yasangi and soil health cards distribution at adopted village, Damera on 08-10-2021

Village adoption team, Agricultural College, Warangal organized awareness programme on crop diversification in yasangi and distributed soil health cards on 08-10-2021 at Rythuvedika, Damera. Dr. M. Balram, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Warangal addressed the farmers about need for crop diversification and suggested the farmers to cultivate alternate crops to paddy during rabi season. Also briefed about importance and insisted to grow green manure crops which in turn help in enrichment of soil organic matter and also it improves the soil physical properties. Dr. R. Umareddy, ADR, RARS, Warangal addressed about the importance of basal application of phosphorus fertilizer to soils and explained about importance of alternate crops in rabi season. Dr. U.Nagabhushanam, Senior Scientist, RARS, Warangal briefed about the importance of crop diversification and cultivation of alternate crops like bengalgram, red gram, sunflower, blackgram, greengram, jowar, sesame, maize etc. to paddy for cultivation during yasangi, 2021-22. He has also explained suitability of alternate crops to the location. Dr. J. Kamalakar, Asst. Prof (SSAC) explained about crop wise recommendation of nutrients and fertilizers. He also emphasized on importance of soil testing and suggested famers to follow balanced nutrient management to get sustainable yields and urged the farmers to follow the recommendations of the soil health cards. Agricultural College, Warangal distributed soil health cards in association with Coromandel International Ltd., Sri. Sajan kumar, Area Manager, Coromondel international Private ltd., Sri. V. Ravinder Reddy, ADA, Parkal, Smt. K. Swetha, A.O. Damera, MPP Sri Shankar, MPTC Sri Krupakar Reddy, ZPTC Smt. Kalpana, Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Dr. G. Swathi, Dr. B. Raju, Dr. Ch. Anusha, Smt. Ch. Yashaswini, Smt. L. Suhasini,and 40 farmers participated in the programme.
