Awareness Talk on Cancer at Agricultural College Warangal on 04-02-2020

On the occasion of World Cancer Day (04.02.2020), an awareness talk was organized at Agricultural College, Warangal. Dr. Vinod Kumar, Surgical Oncologist from Relief Hospital, Arepally, Warangal delivered a talk which was attended by staff and students. He elaborately explained about the prevention and causes of cancer. He advised the students to stay away from addictions such as smoking and alcohol as 95% of cancer cases arise due to smoking. He stressed that low physical activity and obesity is also another cause of cancer and encouraged the students to modify their lifestyle and start playing games. Increased use of red meat causes colon cancer. He instructed that whenever a person observes any lumps in their body, they should immediately get themselves checked to prevent further development of tumors. Question answer forum was followed.
