Balanced Nutrition to Lead a Healthy Life at KVK, Bellampalli on 17-09-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial organized POSHAN MAAH (Prime Minister's Overreaching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment) and capacity development programme for Anganwadi teachers, workers and farm women (KVK and IFFCO initiative) aimed to sensitize on various aspects of nutrition to address malnutrition by bringing change in the food system through creating awareness on different interventions on 17th September, 2020. Dr. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bellampalli briefed the participants on the purpose of celebrating the Poshan month is to take the message of nutrition to every nook and corner of the country and to focus on complimentary food, treatment and prevention from infections in children and also given power point presentation on Balanced Nutrition for a Healthy Life keeping in view of tribal and general women health of the district, also explained about Package of Practices of Vegetables and Horticultural crops, Nutri-Thali and Bio fortified varieties followed by the distribution of Kitchen garden kits (Seasonal Vegetable seeds) sponsored by IFFCO to the Participants to promote the Nutritional Security. A training cum field visit carried out on Model Nutrition vegetable garden at Instructional Farm, KVK and explained in detail by Smt. U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture). For this programme, Sri. Satyanarayana, ZP Vice-Chairman, Bellampalli, Sri. Rauf khan, DWO, Mancherial, Sri. Vinod Kumar, DAO, Mancherial, Sri. Gomasa Srinivas, MPP, Bellampalli, Sri. Kiran, Field Officer, IFFCO, Nizamabad, Smt. Uma Devi, C.D.P.O., Mancherial, Scientists of KVK, Bellampalli Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) and 60 Anganwadi teachers, workers and Farm women were attended the occasion.
