Capacity Development of Anganwadi Workers and Farm Women on Poshan at Hanuman Basthi, Kothagudem on 17-09-2020 by KVK, Bhadradri Kothagudem

KVK, Bhadradri Kothagdem has conducted Awareness programme on Capacity Development of Anganwadi Workers and Farm Women on Poshan Abhiyan 2020 at Hanuman Basthi, Kothagudem on 17.09.2020. The programme was attended by Smt. Seethalaxmi (Muncipal Chairperson, Kothagudem) as chief guest. Dr. G. Veeranna, (PC, KVK), Smt.Varalakshmi (District Welfare Officer), Smt. Swarnalatha lenina, (CDPO), Smt .J. M. Swarnalatha Lenina, CDPO, BKTDM, Sri. T. Kalpana, District coordinator (Poshan Abhiyan), Councellors Smt. Satyabama and M.D.Sahera Begum had participated in the programme. The programme was inaugurated by inviting the guests on the dias and playing the University Song. Dr. G. Veeranna (PC) has spoke about importance of nutrition and created awareness on importance of balanced diet to all age groups, explained basic food groups, iron rich foods, calcium rich foods, Immunity boosting foods, importance of millets foods and importance of nutria-garden. Ms. V. Daivashiromani, SRF (Home science) has explained the gathering about the aim of the programme and importance of Nutrition in the maintaining health of adolescent girls and pregnant women. Mr. Banoth Shiva, SMS (Horticulture) has explained about the importance of vegetables in diet. Layout plans of various types of backyard vegetable gardens, Terrance gardens, Pendals etc. Dr. V. Lakshminarayanamma, SMS (Plant protection) has talked about harmful effects of pesticide residues in vegetables and also shared tips in controlling pests in Kitchen gardens for the benefit of the audience. The programme guest Smt. Seethalaxmi (Muncipal Chairperson, Kothagudem) has distributed nutri-garden seed kits along with Poshan Maah Pledge to all the 80 anganwadi workers and farm women who has participated in the programme Laters the guests were felicitated by giving Bouquet, Nutri-garden seed kit and Fruit basket. The ‘Vote of thanks’ was proposed by Dr. R. Vishwatej, SMS (Extension) for all the guests, participants and media for making the programme successful. A ‘Demonstration’ on establishment of Nutri-Garden and an ‘Exhibition’ of all the nutritional food items (Nutri-thalli) and various information material were displayed at the venue of the programme for creating awareness for farm women and anganwadi workers.
