Celebration of Constitution Day on 26th November 2019 at College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar

November 26 marks the day when India had adopted its constitution in the year 1949. The constitution came into force on January 26, 1950. Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, known for championing the cause of down-trodden, was the head of the committee that finalised the draft of the Indian Constitution. The completion of the draft had taken 2 years, 11 months and 17 days. The Constitution Day was first celebrated four years ago in 2015 as a mark of tribute to Dr Ambedkar, the first law minister of India, who played an important role in the framing of the Indian Constitution. Addressing nation in his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat on 24th November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he hopes that ''Constitution Day'' reinforces people's obligation towards upholding the constitutional ideals and values. Taking the message, Constitution Day was celebrated at College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar on 26th November, 2019 under National Service Scheme (NSS). The teaching, non-teaching staff and students (NSS volunteers) of the college assembled at the Auditorium at 11:00 AM and read out the preamble to the Constitution under the guidance of Dr Seema, Associate Dean. Later a rally was organized with the students on the “Fundamental Duties”. They displayed the fundamental duties on the placards and gave slogans. All the Heads of the Departments, NSS Programme Officers, Dr. B. Padmaja, Dr. B. V. Vara Prasad, Dr. Ameer Pasha, Dr. A. Meena and Dr. K. Aruna, other staff and students participated in the event.
