Prof. Kothapalli Jayashankar 89th Birth Anniversary at Agricultural College, Sircilla, Rajanna Sircilla on 06-08-2022

Late Prof. Kothapalli Jayashankar Sir’s 89th birth anniversary is celebrated at Agricultural College, Sicilla on 06th August, 2022. Dr. R. Sathish, OISA started the programme by briefing the services and major role played by Prof. Jayashankar Sir in the movement of Telangana State formation. The Associate Dean Dr. T. Uma Maheswari madam said that Prof. Jayashankar sir was an Indian academic and social activist. He was a leading ideologue of the Telangana Movement and fought for a separate state beginning in 1952 and he also stated that unequal distribution of river water was the root cause of the separate Telangana movement. He struggled throughout his life for educating Telangana people on the necessity of separate state through his academic and research efforts. From 1962 he played an important role and led many agitations for reorganization of the state. He died on 21 June 2011 and Government of Telangana honoured him by changing the name of ANGRAU to Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU). The Associate Dean, said that all staff members have to be proud and remember the Prof. Jayashankar sir’s sacrifices for the formation of Telangana state and work together for the society and development of Telangana.
