College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur NSS Special Camp on 09-12-2019 at Ambam Village

As a part of NSS special camp, 65 NSS volunteers of College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur has conducted veterinary camp in Ambam village on 09-12-2019 with the support Lions Club of Bhavani, Bodhan. Dr. D. Santosh, VIS Rudrur, has treated and medicated 10 cows, 20 buffaloes, 6 calves, as they were suffering from skin diseases, oral infections etc. MPDO Rudrur, G. Rajender, NSS officer, Mrs. P. Srilatha and Mrs. S. Sowjanya, Assistant professors, non-teaching staff, Sarpanch, and villagers have actively participated in programme and made successful. In the afternoon session, NSS volunteers performed Swachh Bharat near the new Grampanchayat office. Maloth Mohan, SRF, KVK, Rudrur explained fish farming practices to farmers at primary school of Ambam village. He emphasized on integrated fish farming, different types of fish and prawn varieties, different types of ponds, Trench and Saucer method, inhibition of weeds and insects, site selection for farming, quality of water, electricity and transportation facilities. Explanation was also given about the value added products of fish like Fish Pickle, Fish Powder, Fish Sausages, and Fish Sauce. Session was successful with Scientist- Farmer interaction session.
