College Day Celebrations at Agricultural College,Warangal on 13-03-2020

Agricultural College, Warangal celebrated its 4th College Day-AGVENTURE-2020 on 13.03.2020 with great enthusiasm which was presided over by the Associate Dean, Dr. T. Ramesh. The chief guest of the event was Dr. P. Hari Krishna, Associate Dean-Research and Consultancy, Faculty Advisor-Centre for Value Education and Associate Professor, Department of civil engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal (Fig.1). Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, Dr. P.Jagan Mohan Rao, was the guest of honour. It was indeed a special occasion to celebrate because, for the first time all the four batches of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture participated. The program started with inviting the dignitaries onto the dais followed by invocation song, ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the distinguished dignitaries (Fig.2) and University song (Fig.3). Associate Dean, Dr. T. Ramesh, presented the annual report of the college highlighting the support rendered by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and administration of PJTSAU in development of the college. Activities taken up by faculty members, students and farmer related activities were also presented along with future plan of action and challenges ahead. Success of the students at inter-collegiate and inter-university sports and cultural meet was highlighted. This was followed by the address of the chief guest who said that students should give importance to personal life, professional life, family life, social life and spiritual life. Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, Dr. P.Jagan Mohan Rao motivated the students to work hard and be confident. Officer in-charge academic matters, Dr. A. Venkat Reddy, motivated the students to work hard and secure JRF admissions and advised faculty to guide the students. The dignitaries released a digital copy of College Magazine, “DHATHRI – 2020”. Prize were distributed to the students who have participated and won in various sports and games such as cricket, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, caroms and chess. Prizes were distributed for cultural and literary events such as elocution, essay writing, debate, group dance, group song, solo dance, solo song, rangoli, poster making etc conducted as a part of College Day celebrations. Individual championship was won by Ms. Bhanusri of final year and Mr. Saikiran of 3rd year. The overall championship was won by final year students. As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility, dinner was provided to underprivileged kids of Don Bosco Navjeevan NGO, Warangal. Cultural events included a playlet, “Vandanam Rythanna” depicting the life of a farmer and rhythms of a farmer’s field by 2nd year students (Fig.4), Pantomime themed, “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” by 3rd year students (Fig.5). Many students actively participated in the cultural events such as singing, dancing and skits etc (Fig.6). Finally a formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. J. Kamalakar, Officer in-charge student activities.
