DAATTC, Karimnagar has organized Farmers Scientists Interaction meeting on mechanization in rice in Rajanna Sircilla District on 23rd November, 2020

The traditional way of rice transplanting is labor intensive and involves drudgery. Mechanical rice transplanting method is cost effective and operation friendly. In spite of having an edge over the traditional transplanting, adoption rate of mechanical transplanting is low due to one of the major problem is lack of knowledge in growing mat type of nursery among the farmers who are using transplanters. By taking these points DAATTC, Karimnagar has organized Farmers Scientists Interaction meeting on mechanization in rice at Vilasagar (V), Boinpally (M), Rajanna Sircilla Dist. on 23rd November, 2020. Sri.K.Shekar, Coordinator & Scientist (Crop Production) conducted demonstration on raising modified mat nursery for machine transplanting. Explained the method of raising, using of seeder for sowing and measures to be followed during the nursery period to the farmers. This method can save about 1600 Rupees compared to the traditional tray method, about 80 sheets are required to transplant one acre area with transplanter. This method saves time, cost and energy in transplanting rice. With the intervention of DAATTC, Karimnagar in this area approximately more than 300 acres will be under modified mat nursery followed by machine planting by the farmers.
