D.A.A.T.T.C., Karimnagar organized an Awareness Programme on “Role of e-NAM in Agricultural Marketing” on 20-11-2021 in Jagtial District

The majority of farmers sell their produce in local markets due to lack of information about the new marketing strategies lead to getting low prices for their commodity. To sensitize the farmers DAATTC, Karimnagar has organized an Awareness Programme on “Role of e-NAM in Agricultural Marketing” at Rythuvedika, Thirumalapur village of Kodimyala mandal in Jagtial District. DAATTC Coordinator Mr. K. Shekar and Scientist Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy were given information about getting fair price for alternate crops under crop diversification alternate to rice and e-NAM (National Agricultural Market). They explained that, e-NAM is the largest e-trading platform for farmers in India. It is envisaged to protect the farmers’ as well as consumer’s interest in fair agricultural marketing practices. Many features such as the provision of online trading for better transparency and accountability, assaying facilities for fair prices against quality, online auction for fair and transparent price discovery, weighment integration for accuracy, online payment for right time price realization makes e-NAM superior to the traditional system. They also emphasized the farmers to subscribe PJTSAU YouTube channel to get latest information on technologies, pest & disease management in various crops. Dr. P. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Agril. Economics), RARS, Polasa has given detailed information and uses of e-NAM. She has emphasized that e-NAM Portal helps in providing a single window service in all aspects like commodity arrivals, price information, buy & sell trade offers, provision to respond to trade offers etc. It also helps in scientific price discovery through increased participation of traders across the country. She also explained the procedure to use e-NAM mobile application which provides handy information to the stakeholders at any place and time. District Agricultural Officer (DAO), Jagtial Mr. P. Suresh has emphasized the farmers to use e-NAM for marketing of their commodity to get good price. Sarpanch, Thirumalapur – Smt. Gangula Padma Mallesham, Sarpanch, Shanivarampeta – Smt. Bandari Ellavva, Mandal Rythu Bandhu Coordinator – Sri. Ankam Rajesham, ADA, Jagtial- Smt. Kalpana, MAO, Kodimyala – P. Jyothi, AEOs- Greeshma, Sreelatha, Srinu, Village Rythu Bandhu Coordinators and 50 farmers were participated.
