D.A.A.T.T.C. – ARS, Karimnagar organised Awareness programme on “Use of ICTs and Mobile Apps in Agriculture” on 27-07-2022 at Rajanna Sircilla District

D.A.A.T.T. Centre – ARS, Karimnagar has organized Awareness Programme on “Use of ICTs and Mobile Apps in Agriculture” to the farmers at Rythuvedika, Galipalli village Illanthakunta mandal in Rajanna Sircilla District. Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) & Coordinator briefed the importance of ICTs in Agriculture and gave a detailed description of the mobile apps, portals used in agriculture and gave hands on training to the farmers on the mobile apps of the University and encouraged to download mobile applications like Plantix, Youtube channel of PJTSAU which aptly serve the immediate need of the farming community. He said that farmers can contact directly with the Kisan Sarathi Toll free number 14426 or 1800 123 2175 for obtaining information on activities related to Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry and fisheries. He informed that DAATT Centre, Karimnagar sending regular information on weather, pest & disease management and other important need based message in the form of text and voice by utilizing the service of Kisan Sarathi for the benefit of farming community. He also emphasized the farmers to get subscribe PJTSAU You Tube channel for latest updates in agriculture technologies. Later Dr. M. Rajendra Prasad explained about management practices to be taken to recover the major crops after heavy rains. Then he informed the farmers on precautionary measures for the management of pest & diseases in the crops. Later DAATTC, Karimnagar scientists along with Department of Agriculture officials visited the Cotton & Maize fields of farmers and given suggestions as per the university recommendations. Sarpanch–Smt.Vaani Devender Reddy, MPTC- Smt. Shyamala Devi, Village Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Coordinator Sri. Devender Reddy, Agriculture Extension Officer – Smt. Jyothi and around 40 farmers participated in the awareness programme.
