DAATTC, Tornala-method demonstration of clipping of rice tips and alley ways at Bussapur (V), Siddipet (Rural) (M), Siddipet (Dt) on 08-08-2022

DAATTC, Tornala Sri. J. Vijay, Coordinator, Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP) visited Bussapur (V), Siddipet (Rural) (M), Siddipet (Dist.) conducted method demonstration on clipping of rice tips to reduce the infestation of stem borer and alley ways for BPH in paddy. Sri. J. Vijay demonstrated cutting the tips of paddy seedlings before transplanting, egg masses laid by paddy stem borer are destroyed and reduce the infestation of stem borer ahead. Dead heart and white ear are major symptoms of yellow stem borer. One week before pulling the nursery, apply 800g Carbofuran 3G granules for one acre nursery. If Paddy is at tillering stage in main field and stem borer is observed apply carbofuran 3G granules @ 10 kg/acre or cartap hydrochloride 4G granules @ 8 kg/acre. Alley ways of 20 cm were made for every 2m length for BPH management. Dr. Ch. Pallavi explained about the nutrient management in paddy and basal application of MOP @ 15 kgs/acre as reddening of the older leaves was also observed. In this programme, 20 farmers participated.
