Distribution of Hand Weeders to The Tribal Farmers under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) by KVK, Bellampalli on 28-07-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial district has organized a programme for distribution of 20 No. of Hand Weeders to the Tribal farmers under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on 28th July, 2020 at KVK, Bellampalli. The following adopted villages of KVK, Bellampalli under TSP were selected (Manneguda and Narwaipet villages of Nennel Mandal) with the concern of the respective village Sarpanches and with Gram Panchayat Resolution and distributed 20 No. of hand weeders to the Tribal farmers. The main objective of distributing the hand weeders is to save the labour cost for weeding and also aerates the soil and root zone, prolongs the root activity of crops and timely weeding where the labor availability is the major problem during peak periods of agricultural operations which leads to reduction in crop yields. For this distribution programme, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bellampalli, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) and Smt U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture) along with the public representatives of respective villages and the beneficiary Tribal farmers were attended.
