Exposure Visit of Skill Development Trainees to Hyderabad Conducted by RARS, Polasa, Jagtial on 10-03-2020

Regional agriculture research station, Polasa, Jagtial is organising 25 days skill development training programme on “Agriculture extention service provider” and “Quality seed grower”.As a part of skill development program exposure visit has been conducted by Programme coordinators, Smt.P. Sadvi and Dr.B.Srinivas to various units in Hyderabad.

Dr.S.J. Rahman, Principal scientist, Bio control unit explained the trainees about various method of pest control by using biological control agents and taking up of preparation of tricho cards as self employement . During the visit to integrated farming system trainees got exposed to agricultural systems that integrates live stock and crop production.Trainees gained knowledge on recycling of farm wastes for productive purposes in integrated system. judicious mix of agriculture enterprises like dairy, paultry,sheep farming were explained and also these enterprises not only suplimentary income of the farmer that also help in increasing the family members employment. During the visit to the seed production plot the technique of seed production in maize is clearly explained to trainees. During the visit to hydrophonics the technique of growing plants in water without use of any soil were explained. In this technique the plant can either be grown with the roots directly in the mineral nutrients solution are with in an inert medium such as mineral wool of clay pebbles. In hydrophonics water is circulated in the system and as a result there is reduced water requirement. In this visit Program coordinators, P.Sadvi, Dr. B.Srinivas, AO Madhusudhan, AELP students and Skill development trainees participated.
