Farmer Awareness programme in Melladuppalpally and cherlapally villages organised by DAATTC, Nalgonda on 31-10-2019

On 31.10.2019, DAATTC, Nalgonda conducted awareness programme to farmers on Rice and Cotton crops inview of regular continuons rains. G.Narendar, Scientist, Crop Production & Coordinator (i/c), B.R.Madhusekar, Scientist (TOT), Village Serpanch Smt.Padmavathi attended the programme and interacted with the farmers, addressed on Farmers should drain out excess water from the paddy fields to control the spread of BBH . The rice crop is at grain formation and development stage, advised control measures for control of pests and diseases. Cotton crop is at 1st picking stage and 2nd flush is at button stage, so we advised top dressing of fertilisers. As weather is also congenial to bollworm complexes in cotton, we suggested the Proper Integrated pest management practices. After awareness programme, went to Frontline Demonstration (FLD) plots on Alternate wetting and Drying in Rice in Cherlapally village of M. Bhupal Reddy farmer Field along the Associate Director of Research (STZ), RARS, Palem Dr.K.Avil Kumar and interacted with farmer. Farmer is satisfied with the technology as water is become scarce, which he was observed during the early monsoon period of June and July. He did not faced problem with the weeds also.
