Field day on Demonstration of WRG-65 Redgram Variety & IPM Practices in Redgram on 15-02-2020 by KVK, Bellampalli

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial district has organized a Field day on “The performance of of WRG-65 Redgram Variety & IPM Practices in Redgram”. A field day has been conducted on showcasing the performance and IPM practices in the Redgram variety of the PJTSAU i.e., Rudreshwara (WRG – 65) at Lambadithanda and Malagurijala villages of Bellampalli mandal of Mancherial District on 15th February, 2020 under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP). This has been organized as a part of front line demonstrations undertaken in pulse crop (Demonstration of WRG-65 Redgram Variety & IPM Practices in Redgram) during kharif 2019. In this connection the demonstrations on performance and IPM practices of redgram variety Rudreshwara (WRG-65) has been organized among the 10 farmer fields in the KVK, Bellampalli adopted (tribal & DFI) villages. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bellampalli has addressed the farmers on the importance of cultivation of Pulses (Redgram, WRG-65 variety) and selection of university released location specific high yielding varieties of pulses for the better yields and also for the enhancement of soil health. The farmer Sri. Kalali Santhosh, farmer from Malgurijala Village of Bellampalli Mandal, Mancherial District was selected for the FLD. He was impressed and shared his experience with the fellow farmers on the Field day about the Front Line Demonstration taken up in his field i.e. Redgram variety (WRG-65) and IPM Practices in Redgram. He followed recommended package of practices and installed pheromone traps to monitor the pest incidence. The farmers who were at the programme expressed their views about the growth and yield of the crop will be 5-6 q/acre. The programme was graced by the Programme Coordinator, KVK Staff, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Bellampalli (Div.), Mandal Agricultural Officer, Bellampalli, AEOs, Public Representatives - M.P.T.C., Sarpanch and Vice-Sarpanch and 65 No. of farmers.
