Field Day on “Direct seeded Rice” by KVK, Malyal on 17-11-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Field Day on “Direct seeded Rice” at Mulkanur Village of Garla Mandal, Mahabubabad district on 17-11-2021. On this occasion, the host farmer Sri Rajendra prasad, spoke about his experience in direct seeded Rice. Subsequently, some farmers have shared their experiences in direct seeded technology. This is one of the village in Garla mandal where direct seeded paddy is taken up in hundreds of acres. Later Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (Crop production) explained about importance of weedicide usage in direct seeded paddy. Sri B. Chatru Naik, DAO, Mahabubabad spoke about farmers should grow alternate crops to Paddy like Greengram, Blackgram, and oil seed crops Dr. U. Nagabushanam, Senior Scientist (Agro.), RARS, Warangal participated as resource person and explained about Direct seeded technology. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator addressed the gathering and explained about advantages of paddy cultivation through direct seeding over normal method of transplanting. Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about Pest and Disease management in Chilli. Sri Laxminarayana, ADA, Mahabubabad, Sri. Rama Rao, MAO, Garla, AEOs of Garla Mandal and 70 No.of farmers from Mulkanur and other villages attended the programme.
