Girls Hostel Inauguration at Agricultural College, Palem on 06-08-2019

Honorable Minister of Agriculture & cooperation, Marketing and Civil Supplies, Telangana State, Sri Singireddy Niranjan Reddy garu inaugurated the newly constructed girls hostel “KRISHNAVENI” at Agricultural College, Palem on 06th August, 2019. Sri Marri Janardhan Reddy garu, Member of legislative assembly of Nagarkurnool preceded the occasion. Honorable Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, other University Officials and local people’s representatives graced the occasion.

The girl’s hostel building was sanctioned with a budget of Rs.4.9 crores and foundation stone was laid on 23rd March, 2017. The building was constructed in an area of ¾ acre with a space for shuttle court and volley ball court inside the building itself. A special care room for sick students and Doctor room provision was made. The hostel consists of 28 spacious, well ventilated rooms with internal area of 224 m2 in which around 82 students can be accommodated. Special facilities for physically challenged people are provided. A big TV hall, multipurpose hall and circular recreation space are available for students.

A meeting on this occasion was held at auditorium of RARS with all students, staff of Agricultural College, RARS, APT and KVK Palem. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Associate Dean Agricultural College, Palem welcomed all the dignitaries and presented status of the college. Honorable Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU Dr. V. Praveen Rao highlighted the significant achievements of the university and extended sincere thanks to government for budgetary support to university in building infrastructure.

Sri. Marri Janardhan Reddy in his address of gathering has appreciated the efforts of university in serving the farming community and promised to sanction land for college. Later Sri. S. Niranjan Reddy appreciated the activities of PJTSAU and congratulated for bagging 6th position in ICAR ranking. He advised the staff and students to have a farmer centric approach in dealing the under graduate courses. The programme was ended with a formal vote of thanks proposed by the Associate Dean.
