Haritha Haram Programme Celebrations at Agricultural College, Palem

The programme on "Telangana Ku Haritha Haram" was conducted at Agricultural college, palem by NSS units at college premises of Agricultural college, Palem. Due to current covid-19 scenario and to avoid social gathering, the programme was planned in three spells i.e on 26.06.2020, 29.06.2020 and 02.07.2020. NSS officers advised the students to participate in the programme by planting the saplings at their homes along with family members. The Associate Dean, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy inaugurated the programme by planting a tree sapling of Delonix regia. He emphasized the importance of Haritha Haram programme in the present day context of indiscriminate cutting of trees, severe deforestation in the name of urbanization and explained about the need of afforestation to answer the challenges of climate change and global warming. Later all the teaching and non teaching staff have participated in the programme and planted 38saplings of Neem, Delonix and Peltophoroum in different spells. Students also planted saplings at their home and have sent the photographs to the NSS officers.
