Health Camp at Gullapeta, Jagtial, Telangana State

A free Medical Health Check-up camp was organized by National Service Scheme Unit, Agricultural College, Polasa, Jagtial in collaboration with AAPI Preventive Clinic, Rotary Club of Jagtial and Indian Red cross Society on 31st August, 2019 at Gullapeta (Adopted Village of Agricultural College, Polasa), Jagtial, Telangana State. The total population of the village was 2,000.

The objective of conducting the health camp was to create awareness of general health among the people, provide general health care services and counseling them on basic healthcare and hygiene. Dr. Jaipal Reddy (Deputy DMHO, Jagtial), Dr. Satheesh Kumar, M.D., Dr. Ravi Shankar, MBBS, Lab technicians and Government Nursing College Students volunteers contributed towards achieving the following objectives:

  • Measurement of pulse, blood pressure, height, weight and BMI.
  • General Health Checkup
  • Blood Sugar monitoring to screen Diabetes.

A total of 200 people were Attended in Free Health Camp and Free Blood Sugar Test. Majority of the people who attended the camp were diagnosed with Hypertension and/or Diabetes. Free medicines have been provided to People who were diagnosed with Hypertension and/or Diabetes and advised them to follow up with their local doctors or Public Health Centers.

NSS volunteers and NSS Programme Officers, Teaching Staff of Agricultural College, Polasa, Jagtial and 200 local people of gullapet were attended in this programme. The health camp was a huge success with overwhelming response from the local people.
