The students joining the colleges of the University mostly opt to stay in the hostels as most of the students are from rural background. All the hostels are provided with good boarding and lodging facilities. For overseas students, International Hostels with necessary amenities are provided. The girls and boys are housed separately in different hostels in each campus. The undergraduates share room on twin basis while the PG students are provided single rooms. The hostels are also equipped with indoor games and sports facilities. All the hostels are well maintained with reading rooms, TV hall, internet and wi-fi facilities, dining halls, solar heating system, water purification plants and also gymnasium facility. The food provided to the inmates is hygienic, nutritious and monitored regularly and the mess is managed by the student representatives.

The sports complex at Rajendranagar is spread over 30 acres and has well equipped indoor and outdoor stadia for volley ball, tennikoit ball, badminton, cricket, archery etc. All the sports and games equipment are provided to the students and required encouragement is given to the students to participate and keep themselves physically fit. Besides, there is a well equipped Gymnasium in the complex. The inter-collegiate sports and games meet is held yearly for the UG & PG students and separately for polytechnic students. Also, the students are encouraged to participate in the State and National Youth festivals.
College of Home Science Hyderabad bagged the prestigious overall champions trophy in games in the recently concluded sports meet at Rajendranagar in November 2017
Majority of the colleges under the University have well laid out sports grounds and indoor games facilities.
The University Health Centre at Rajendranagar is well established with observation room, inpatient and outpatient facility, pharmacy, pathological labs and 2 ambulances to meet any emergency. The doctors are engaged on contract basis to attend to the patients. The outstation colleges are also having basic facilities in the health center to take care of the students. In case of emergencies, the patients are referred to nearby hospitals.
The Placement cell in the various colleges of the University is the life line for the outgoing students (UG & PG) to seek jobs especially in the private sector like seeds, pesticides, fertilizer industries etc. The placement cell provides guidance to students for employment. The other activities of the cell includes regular correspondence with the industry, providing soft skills and training for facing the interview. Apart from private sector, students are also joining public sector and Government organizations through competitive examinations. The students of Home Science are getting placement in various organizations/sectors as Dieticians, designers, quality control analysts, health counselors etc. On the other hand, the Polytechnic students are placed as AEO and also absorbed in private firms.
There is a strong Alumni comprising of Civil servants, Politicians, Academicians, Entrepreneurs, Administrators etc. who come forward to serve the institution through placements, sponsorship of Gold medals to the Meritorious students, etc. The Alumni meets are organized periodically. Of late, linking of alumni of respective colleges of the University is being attempted online under supervision of the University administration.
With the intension of inculcating the motto of service amongst the youth, the University has 22 NSS units. Under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers, the NSS volunteers actively participate in various camps, like blood donation camps, Health camps, Animal Health Camps, Woman and Child Welfare camps, etc. and take part in rallies to bring awareness on various social issues. The volunteers also participate in National and State NSS festivals bringing laurels to the University.
The NCC cadets of the University have been participating in the Republic Day Parade regularly and winning medals in equestrian championships including tent pegging etc.
