Jal Shankti Abhiyan - Kisan Mela (03-09-2019) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Wyra, Khammam

Kisan Mela was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Wyra as a part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan on 03.09.2019 at B.V Reddy functiona Hall, Paleru (V), Kusumanchi (M), Khammam (D). Nallamala Venkateswara Rao Garu, RSS District Coordinator, Sri Banoth Srinivasa Naik Garu, MPP ,Kusumanchi, Smt.Inturi Baby Garu, ZPTC, Kusumanchi, Smt. Srinivas, MAO’s, AEO’s and Dr.Veerana ,Programme Coordinator and SMS’s of Bhadradri kothagudem, Dr.V.Sridhar, Sr. Scientist & Head, ARS, Madhira and 1302 number of farmers, 200 school children were participated in the programme. A rally was taken with school children along with district officials for creating the awareness on water conservation. As a part of Kisan Mela, six stalls were arranged by KVK, Wyra, Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, ground water and District Rural Development Agency on the various technologies After the welcome address, the programme started by lighting the lamp by the guests and officials. Four bulletins prepared by KVK, Wyra on the various topics related to water conservation has been opened by the guests and officials. A brief presentation on water management techniques and the moisture sensitive stages for realization of good yields in the different crops given by Dr. B. Krishna Rao, Director, WALAMTARI. Special guest, Sri Prateek Jain, IAS, Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, GoI has given awareness to the farmers regarding the saving of water resources for future generation and also government initiatives on steps for water conservation is a great welcoming thing for making the people to encourage towards water conservation and Kisan Mela’s Conducting by KVK’s for creating the awareness to the farmers and making them to adopt the new water saving methods in crops like using of Micro irrigation and constructing of farm ponds, Mulching and other methods like alternate wetting and drying, dry converted wet rice is a good sign for farmers development. All the guests and district officials have given their remarks on Kisan Mela and motivated the farmers towards water conservation. All the scientists participated in the farmer scientist interaction and given the information on the questions asked by the farmers. At last, the programme ended with the vote of thanks given by Dr. K. Ravi Kumar,SMS (Plant protection), KVK, Wyra.
