Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organised the Kisan Mela as part of the "Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" on 26th April, 2022 at instructional farm of KVK, Bellampalli. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Principle Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) addressed the gathering on the importance of KISAN BHAGIDARI PRATHMIKTA HAMARI CAMPAIGN further stressed on the cultivation practices of millets, oilseeds and bio-fortified crops and importance of IFS keeping in view of doubling the farmers income. Later the chief guest Shri. Durgam Chinnaiah, M.L.A., Bellampalli addressed the role by farmers in the economic progress of the country. He also suggested the farmers to more focus on Agriculture along with allied sectors like poultry, dairy, sheep rearing, bee keeping and silkworm rearing to achieve income sustainability. After that, certificates were issued to the candidates who had undergone skill training programme as a part of ASCI on Vermi Composting by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli. After over of the programme visited all the stalls in KISAN MELA and appreciated the efforts of the staff towards the progressive work and he appreciated the efforts of KVK, Bellampalli related to crop diversification in district. Smt. G. Kalpana, D.A.O., Mancherial addressed the farmers importance of crop rotation and strip cropping to generate higher income by focusing on cultivation of pulses and oilseed crops. She also said that the cultivation of banned cotton (HT Cotton) as it could pollute the environment as well as the land. Lastly she expressed the importance of Krishi Vigyan Kendra as which is a platform at the district level to provide various types of farm support to the agricultural sector. Mr. Haveli Raju, Lead Bank Manager, Mancherial created awareness on Kisan credit cards and schemes available for the promotion of dairy, poultry, sheep rearing and other allied sectors. KVK Scientists Participated: Dr. Shivakrishna Kota SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) and Dr. U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture). Public Representatives Participated: ZP Vice Chairman Shri Satyanarayana Garu, MPP Shri Srinivas Garu and Shri Ashok, Sarpanch, Malagurijala. Departmental staff Participated: Assistant Director of Agriculture Mrs. Anita, Shri Bapu, Shri Intiaz Ahmed, KB Asifabad District Horticulture Officer Representative Mrs. Shanthi Priya, Mancherial District Horticulture Officer Representative Mrs. Supraja, Mandal Agriculture Officials, Agricultural Extension Officers, Representatives of various companies, Samrudhi Society Founders Kavitha Garu, Progressive Farmers Shri Shyam Sundar Reddy, Shri Tirupati Garu etc. Total number of Farmers Participated: 310 farmers from various villages of Mancherial and KB Asifabad Districts and 77 officials from Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Veterinary and Public Representatives.
