KVK, Bellampalli Organized Campaign on Nutri-Garden and Tree Plantation on 17-09-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has organized Campaign on Nutri-Garden and Tree Plantation to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav - 75 years of India Independence and International Year of Millets 2023 on 17th September, 2021. In this programme, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator) presided the meeting and given the introductory remarks to the gathering about the importance of millets and suggested to include the millet food in the daily diet of the individuals. Smt. Uma Devi, CDPO, ICDS explained about the nutritional value of different millets. She explained about the role of women in building the nation through provision of nutrient supplements to the families and explained different ways to incorporate the millets items in daily food intake. Sri. Durgam Chinnaiah garu, MLA, Bellampalli addressed the participants in the meeting about the need and requirement of millet use in present day diet. He appreciated the role played by the KVK staff in the catering needs of the stakeholders. Further added that, KVK has increased the awareness among the farmers on modern agricultural strategies to reduce the cost of cultivation.KVK should take part in all round development of the farmers through exposure visits, capacity building programmes. Later, Sri. Durgam Chinnaiah garu, MLA, Bellampalli, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator and all other public representatives and District Officials distributed the fruit plants and vegetable seed packets to the participants. In this programme, public representatives: Sri. T. Sathyanarayana, Zilla Vice- Chairman, Sri. Gomasa Srinivas, MPP-Bellampallli, Sri. Paale Chandraiah, ZPTC–Kasipet, Smt. Swetha Sridhar, Municipal Chairman-Bellampalli, District officials attended: Sri. R. Srinivas Rao, DAO- K.B. Asifabad, Sri. Prem Kumar, A.O–Bellampalli, KVK Staff attended: Dr.Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agril. Extension), Sri. A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production), Sri. U. Sravanthi and Dr. B. Sathish Kumar SMS (Agrometeorology) A total of 111 number of farmers were participated in this programme.
