Training Programme on “Cold Injury & Zn Deficiency Management in yasangi Rice” and ’’ New Trends & Emerging Avenues in Agriculture Marketing" on 12-01-2021 at KVK, Bellampalli.

KVK Bellampalli Mancherial organized on campus training programmes on “Cold Injury & Zn Deficiency Management in yasangi Rice” and New Trends & Emerging Avenues in Agriculture Marketing” to the tribal farmers of Mancherial and KB Asifabad districts on 12.01.2021 at KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Programme Coordinator, KVK Mancherial addressed the farmers about the yasangi rice cultivation practices and suggested the farmers on use of combination of organic manures with chemical fertilizers which increases the soil health. Use of biofertilizers like Azosprillum and Phosphobacteria (Direct application or root dipping method) will increase the nutrient use efficiency. Also suggested the framers prevailing weather conditions are favorable for blast disease in paddy, advised to spray tricyclazole @ 0.6 gr /lit and also explained regarding the new marketing strategies in agriculture and allied sectors including new farm bills. Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agril. Extension) interacted with the farmers about the e-NAM, e-Commerce and other marketing platforms for sale of different agricultural produces to different agencies/buyers and also explained the various marketing aspects of agriculture and horticulture produces which was included in the new farm bills. Dr I.Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) interacted and discussed with the farmers on Zinc deficiency symptoms and its management in yasangi rice. Symptoms usually appear from 2-4 weeks after transplanting or sowing. Yellowing starts from the base of younger leaves and progress towards the leaf tip and followed by reddish brown, irregular blotches appear on the leaf blades (bronzing) and plants also exhibit stunted growth. Suggested the farmer to apply 20 kg ZnSO4 per acre before transplanting or spray zinc sulphate @ 2g/ lit when the zinc deficiency symptoms were observed. For this programme, Sri.A.Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection) and Smt. U.Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture), along with the public representatives and 32 No. of Tribal farmers from Mancherial and KB Asifabad districts were participated.
