As per instruction of university, KVK, Kampasagar conducted capacity building, farmer identification and survey on Sensor based IOT technology in water Management at Konthalapally, Tripuraram on 22.01.2022. In this programme Dr. R. Mahender Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-IIRR, Hyderabad briefed about Project “Evaluating IOT enabled AWD system (CultYvate) for reducing GHG emission and enhancing sustainable Rice Production”. Dr. Latheef Pasha, Senior Scientist, Water Technology Centre explained the automatic irrigation system using sensor has an important role in controlling/reducing the use of electricity and water to ensure quality and to improve irrigation efficiency. Dr. Prasanth, Scientist, Bangalore based Company briefed about importance and Procedure of sensor based IOT technology in Rice water management. Dr.T.Bharath, Scientist (Crop Production) briefed importance of Alternate Wetting and Drying technology in Rice. Finally scientist interacted with farmers (30 numbers) and recorded feedback regarding AWD technology.
