KVK, Malyal organized “awareness programme on water saving technologies” and sapling distribution under Jal Shakti Abhiyan on 26-7-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized “awareness programme on water saving technologies” and sapling distribution under Jal Shakti Abhiyan at Sriramagiri village of Nellikudur Mandal on 26-07-2021. Importance of Jal Shakti Abhiyan was explained by Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extn.) He explained that each one of us should implement rain water harvesting in fields as well as at home by constructing soak pits. Sri B. Kranthi Kumar, SMS (C.P.) explained water saving technologies in different crops. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the gathering and explained the need of water conservation even in situations of abundant water resources. And all farmers should adopt wise water management options in agriculture, horticulture crops taken up by them. Concept of alternate methods of rice plantings, skip furrow irrigation, micro irrigation were highlighted. Subsequently, saplings of Jackfruit, Dates, Mango and Teak were distributed to the farmers. In this programme, Smt. M. Sharanya, AEO, Sarpanch of Sriramagiri village and 27 no.of farmers participated.
