Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad inaugurated Common Millet Incubation Centre for Millets funded by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt of India under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme on 15th September 2023. The inauguration was graced by Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri. Minhaj Alam, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India. In his address he emphasized that the common incubation centre will increase the access to common services like processing, storage, packaging, marketing & incubation services which are pivotal in supply chain management. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PJTSAU Shri. M. Raghunandan Rao, IAS, APC & Secretary, Dept. of Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation, Govt. of Telangana reiterated that the aim of this incubation centre is to help farmers and budding entrepreneurs to know the processing technology of millets and guidance in entrepreneurial activities. The processing lines were explained by Dr. B. Anila Kumari, Associate Professor (FDNT) and CEO of Common Incubation centre. The entrepreneurs who were incubated at MPIC appreciated the technology and expressed satisfaction about the support received by the University. This program was attended by the honorary board members of PJTSAU, University officers, Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of various stations, Heads & staff of the Departments, incubatees, non-teaching staff and students of PJTSAU.
