National Girl Child day at Agricultural College, Sircilla on 24-01-2020

‘National Girl Child Day’ was celebrated at Agricultural College, Sircilla on 24th January, 2020. The programme was organized as part of NSS activities by Dr. R. Sathish (NSS Programme Officer) and NSS team members. The Associate Dean, Dr. G. Samuel addressed the gathering with amotivation to the girl students and congratulated all the girl students and women staff for crossing all the social barriers and stepping forward for a better society. Dr. Razia Sultana, Professor (GPBR) insisted that every student as NSS volunteer should support, encourage and create awareness among the educationally backward classes and she also suggested open education for under privileged classes. Mrs. K. Bhavya Sree (Assistant Professor) presented a lecture on the importance, purpose and objectives of National Girl Child Day initiation in our country. She also discussed about the factors responsible for the low sex ratio at birth and the initiatives taken up by the Government of India through various schemes for promoting girl education, health and protection. Ms. Hinduja N. A. (Assistant Professor) discussed some real life incidents on discrimination of girls and called for a better society with equal rights. Mr. T. Arunbabu, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks and later NSS student volunteers along with staff members proceeded for rally with slogans to the Jaggaraopalle village. Teaching staff, Dr. V. Bharathi (Professor), Dr. M. Shanti (Professor), Dr. CH. Ramesh (Assistant Professor), V. Naveen (TA), T. Sai Krishna Reddy (TA), D. Sindhu (TA) and non-teaching staff participated in the programme.
