Demonstration of seed treatment in Bengal gram at adopted Village, Damera on 16-11-2021

Agricultural College, Jagtial is conducting a series of guest lecturers in agriculture and allied sectors under the Student Motivation Club for the benefit faculty and students. As a part of this a Guest lecture on “Oil Plam – The Right Choice to Meet Edible Oil Demand of India and Prospects of its Cultivation in Telangana” was conducted on 16.11.2021 through online mode. Dr. K. Manorama, Principal Scientist (Agronomy), ICAR - Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research was the speaker for the guest lecture. Dr. S. Narender Reddy, Associate Dean has given introductory remarks of the programme. Dr. T. Sravan Kumar has given detailed information about the college and Dr. O. Sampath has presented the bio-data of the speaker. Dr. K. Manorama, Principal Scientist (Agronomy) has explained in detail about the edible oil scenario in India and Telangana, the gap between the demand and supply, SWOT analysis, Import-Exports, resource management strategies, RS & GIS techniques, parameters for rainfall and irrigated areas, decision support system for land suitability evaluation, computed aided mobile applications, climax models and hybrid seed production and Oil palm production technologies. The faculty, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture II & Final year students and M.Sc. (Ag) students of the college have participated in the programme. The programme was concluded with the interaction of the faculty and students with the speaker.
