As the Telangana Govt. is providing irrigation facility to the farming community by investing in lift irrigation projects and rejuvenation of small and marginal water tanks etc, identification of suitable crops/cropping patterns, generation of soil fertility maps etc. using the latest tools like RS and GIS is the need of the hour. He also suggested the staff members to come up with suitable project proposals using RS and GIS tools to meet the needs of the state for natural resources management. He expected the laboratory to build up the capacity of staff and students in this line.
