One Day Training Programme on Management of Fall Army Worm in Maize and Vegetable Crops Cultivation was organized at RARS, Warangal on 17-01-2020

One day training programme was organized for adopted village farmers of Seetharampuram on “Management of Fall army worm in maize and Vegetable crops cultivation” at RARS, Warangal on 17-01-2020. Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research Chaired the meeting and emphasized the importance of concept of adopted village and explained that the technologies which were developed by university should be demonstrated in adopted village as mandate. Dr. A. Sudarshanam, Principal Scientist (Cotton) suggested not to extend the cotton crop beyond December month and cotton stubbles should be incorporated in soil properly by using cotton shredder or rotavator and also stressed the importance of enhancement of soil fertility. Dr. S. Malathi, Principal Scientist (Entomology) gave presentation on management of Fall army worm in maize. Later Dr. Ch. Ramulu, Scientist (SSAC), explained about activities under taken during last two years in the adopted village, Dr. E. Srinivas, Principal Scientist (Extension) & Coordinator, DAATTC, Warangal explained about present crop conditions in the district. Sri. Shankar, Horticulture officer (Technical), office of the ADH, Warangal explained about different new technologies in vegetable cultivation, nursery raising of Tomato, Chilli and Brinjal in pro trays, plastic mulching, drip irrigation, fertigation schedules in different vegetable crops and also explained subsidy component for different horticulture crops. Around 40 farmers were attended. Dr. U. Nagabushanam, Dr. B. Ram Prasad, Dr. B. Satish Chandra, Dr. G. Padmaja, Dr. M.R. Bhanusree and AEO of Seetharampuram participated in the meeting.
