Awareness Programme on Management of Pink Boll Worm Population at Cotton Ginning Mill at Munugodu, Nalgonda Dist. on 18-11-2020

The Awareness Programme on Management of Pink Bollworm pest at Cotton Ginning mill was conducted jointly by KVK, Kampasagar, Department of Agriculture and Bayer Crop Science Company at Karthikeya Cotton Ginning mill, Munugodu, Nalgonda dist. on 18.11.2020. Dr. M. A. Aariff Khan, Programme Coordinator and Head KVK, Kampasagar addressed gathering about the source of Pink Boll Worm pupae and adults existing off the field is at Ginning mill premises only in left over seed and affected lint. Advised milling management to clear the left over seed and lint trash immediately. Shri. G. Sridhar Reddy, District Agricultural Officer, Nalgonda and suggested to install pheromone traps in mill premises for mass catching of PBW adult moths and removal of cotton plants around milling area. Simultaneously field visit was also conducted to Cotton crop near to the Ginning mill to monitor PBW incidence and the incidence is moderate to severe. Staff members of Ginning mill, Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), Agricultural Marketing Department, Dr. M. Shankar, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Kampasagar, Agriculture Department officials Shri. Yellaiah, ADA, Munugodu, Shri. Sreenivas Goud, MAO, Munugodu, Bayer Crop Science Area Manager, Suryapet Division and Cotton farmers altogether 40 members present.
