Conducted Field day cum Awareness Programme on rice variety JGL 24423 by KVK, Kampasagar under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on 31-03-2021

A field day cum awareness programme was conducted by KVK, Kampasagar on Demonstration of rice variety Jagtiyal Rice-1 (JGL 24423) in one-acre field of farmer Sri Lakpathi Naik belongs to Palthi thanda (Vill.), Tripuraram (Mndl) under Tribal Sub Plan 2020-21 on 31.03.2021. The Programme Coordinator & Head, KVK, Kampasagar Dr. M. Shankaraiah explained the characteristics of Jagtiyal Rice-1, i.e., medium duration of variety, non-lodging nature, bold grains and less shattering ability. Dr. T. Bharat, SMS (Crop Production) briefed about package of practices of the variety i.e., direct seeding with drum seeder, weeding and fertilizer management to be followed. Dr. M. Shankar, SMS (Plant Protection) explained about management practices of different pests and diseases in JGL 24423. The farmer, Sri Lakpathi Naik expressed his satisfaction about variety and recorded approximately a yield of 50-55 bags /acre. He motivated and encouraged 300 farmers in surrounding villages of Palthi thanda i.e., Anjanapally, Neelaigudem and Ragadapa. In this programme, Scientists of KVK, Kampasagar and a total of 20 farmers were participated.
