KVK, Palem inaugurated Skill Development Training Programmes on Quality Seed Growers under ASCI to the farmers on 05-03-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palem was inaugurated skill Development training programmes under Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) of 25 days duration on Quality Seed Growers on 05.03.2021. Main objective of the training is to provide hands on training to rural youth (MGNREGA workers) for minimum 200 hours duration for their self-employment. A total of twenty-five trainees (25) had registered for the programme. Dr. Ch. Damodar Raju, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Palem, mentioned that agricultural skill will play an important role in transforming youth into agri-preneures so that they can be self-employed as well as provide employment to others through skill development programme. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem spoke about the importance of the programme organized by ASCI under PMKVY and briefed about the programme themes and schedule. Sri. B.Rajashekar, SMS (Extension) planned the selection of trainees and schedule for training programme with theory, practical, field visit and exposure visits to relevant units. Sri. Srininvas, Add.DRDO, Nagarkurnool and special Guest of the occasion mentioned that farmers is lacking skill in self-employment entrepreneurial programmes. Hence, there is a need to plan and execute the skill development programmes in an efficient manner with an aim to Double the Income of Farmers by production of quality seeds. The programme was attended by DRDO officials and teaching & non-teaching staff of the KVK, Palem. Sri. M. Rajashekhar, SMS (Plant Protection) delivered formal vote of thanks.
