Importance of Soil & Water Testing and Integrated Pest Management in Agriculture” on 07-10-2021

One day Training programme on “Importance of Soil & Water Testing and Integrated Pest Management in Agriculture” was organized at Agricultural College, Jagtial on 07.10.2021 with the financial assistance from ICAR under SC-Sub Plan scheme 2020-2021. Dr. S. Narender Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Jagtial inaugurated and addressed scheduled caste farmers about natural resource management and eco friendly measures for combating the agricultural pests. Dr. O. Sampth, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) & OISA advised the farmers to utilize the technical aspects delivered by the experts in the sessions. Further, in technical session Dr. K. Chandra shaker, Assistant Professor (SSAC) addressed the farmers about soil health management. Dr. R. Sai kumar, Assistant Professor (SSAC) stressed on importance of soil and water testing in agriculture. Dr. V. Ratnakar, Assistant Professor (Entomology) created awareness on Pest diagnosis and management in major filed crops. Mr. S. Srinivas Naik, Assistant Professor (Entomology) delivered lecture on Eco friendly pest management in different crops emphasizing bio control. Farmers visited sericulture and vermicompost units. Later, soil health cards and biopesticides were distributed to the farmers. Scheduled caste farmers from Gullapet, Polasa, Laxmipur and Konapur villages were participated in the programme.
