Training Programme on “Climate change” sponsored by NABARD, Nizamabad at KVK, Rudrur, Nizamabad on 26-03-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rudrur has conducted Training programme on “Climate change” sponsored by NABARD, Nizamabad to the AEOs (Agriculture Extension Officers) of Bodhan and Banswada divisions of Nizamabad & Kamareddy districts and Orientation programme on Skill development training programme (Assistant Gardener) under ASCI to the unemployed rural youth of Nizamabad at training hall of KVK, Rudrur on 26.03.2021 (Friday). Chief guest of the programme Sri. M. Govindu, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Nizamabad stated the importance of weather based agro advisories to follow up in day to day agricultural operational activities. Sri. K. Nagesh, District Development Manager, NABARD, Nizamabad has explained about the schemes and programmes to the farmers & FPO formation assistance and also the actions to be taken up for Climate Smart Agriculture practices to effectively support development and ensure food security in the present changing climatic scenario. Dr. S. Naveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Rudrur has explained about the objective and importance of the training programme to the AEOs and discussed about the beneficial weather based agro advisory services provided by District Agromet Unit (DAMU) of KVK, Rudrur in collaboration with IMD (India Meteorological Department) to the farming community of Nizamabad & Kamareddy districts. Miss. B. Srilaxmi, SMS (Agro-Meteorology) DAMU Project has detailed about the causes of Climate change & the role of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture and services provided by IMD to overcome the consequences of climate change in the present situation. Dr. M. Swetha, SMS (Agricultural Extension) has shared the effects of Climate change in Agricultural Production along with their mitigation strategies and the role of AEOs in transferring weather based agricultural services to the farmers. Sri.M. Rachaiah, DPM, AASARA, DRDA explained about the importance of Skill development training programme (Assistant Gardener) as professional employment opportunity and also to enhance professional skills through programme provided by ASCI to overcome the unemployment situation of the graduates in the district. Dr. B. Venkata Rajkumar, SMS (Horticulture) KVK, Rudrur advised the participants to utilize the Assistant gardener training programme as an opportunity to develop their skill and establish a basis to start self income generating activity after the completion of training programme. The AEO’s of Bodhan and Banswada divisions of Nizamabad & Kamareddy districts have actively participated in the programme. A total of 103 participants have attended the programme.
