Regional Agricultural research station, Polasa, Jagtial conducted awareness programme  at adopted village, Veldurthi on following topics on  16.11.2021.

Activity Details :

  •  This  programme was organized by Smt.P. Sadvi i/C, Village adoption and enlightened about the  activities done so far in the adopted village and scope of crop diversification in the village.
  • Sri. P. Madukar Rao, Scientist (Agronomy) enlightened the farmers about cultivation of Zero Tillage in Maize and also explained about weed management.
  • Dr.A. Krishna Chaithanya, Scientist (SSAC) created awareness  on preparation of vermicompost and residue management. He said that by practicing the residue managemet with rotary mulcher the soil fertility can be increased and  also there will be saving in amount of fertilizer applied to the crop there by  save the   unnecessary expenditure towards fertilizers.
  • N. Navatha, scientist(Agronomy) explained about the weather based agro advisory services and urged the farmers to follow the alert messages pertaining to weather and take up the precautionary measures to the crop.
  • Later demonstrated Paddy rotary mulcher in farmers field and showcased its performance and explained the benefits of incorporation of crop residues.
  • Visited Fish farm  at Polasa village  and interacted with the Sri. Gangadhar, progressive fish farmer about the maintenance of the pond and the fishery activities at the farm.
