DOOR to DOOR Campaign on ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ by the Agricultural College, Sircilla on 20-09-2019

As part of Poshan Abhiyaan (NSS Programme) a central government mission, door to door campaign and rally was organized on 20.09.2019 at Jaggaraopalle village, Rajanna Sircilla (District) by the NSS volunteers (B. Sc. Agriculture students) of Agricultural College, Sircilla along with the anganwadi workers to create awareness among the villagers on “Poshan Abhiyaan” programme. The NSS Programme Officer, Dr. R. Sathish explained the importance of nutritious food, its sources and different health and hygiene measures to be taken for 0-6 months old children, and also for pregnant, lacting women, adolescent girls and elderly persons. The NSS volunteers created the awareness among villagers by the door to door campaigning on under nutrition (infants and young child), anaemia (among young children, adolescent girls and women), maternal health and nutrition, childhood care, sanitation, adolescent girl’s nutrition and distributed pamphlets. The NSS volunteers, teaching staff and anganwadi workers proceeded on rally with slogans depicting the nutrition diet in the streets of village. The NSS Programme Officer, NSS team members, other teaching staff, Dr. M. Shanti, Dr. K. Rajesh, students and anganwadi workers were participated in the programme.
