Pre Monsoon Interactive Digital Audio Conference at RARS, Jagtial on 21-05-2020

A pre monsoon interactive Digital Audio Conference was organized by Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial in collaboration with Reliance Foundation under Covid-19 Response digital programme support by involving 55 farmers from three districts (Jagtial, Mancherial, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad) of Northern Telangana Zone on 21.05.2020 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial addressed the farmers and gave message on covid-19 preventive measures to be taken especially during various agricultural operations of harvesting, marketing of seed etc. He also addressed the farmers on various queries in connection with the availability of fine grain varieties in rice, crops to be grown in vanakalam, importance of cotton cultivation, intercropping in maize etc. He also briefed about the Govt. policy with respect to the encouragement of fine grain varieties and promoting cotton cultivation. He also insisted the farmers about the soil sampling in their fields to make use of ICP unit present at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial for efficient crop cultivation. Further he suggested the farmers to take up the green manuring without fail to enhance the soil fertility to follow crop rotation practices and also AWD in rice.
