The Birth Anniversary of our first Deputy Prime Minister late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on 31st October 2019 organized by the NSS unit of Agricultural College, Sircilla. The NSS Programme Officer explained about why National Unity Day is celebrated? and key role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the time of independence, in convincing several princely states to align with the Indian Union. The day of his birth, therefore, celebrates his efforts and contributions. Dr. Razia Sultana, Professor made aware of student responsibilities as citizens of India and how a national integrity helps in defeating the actual and potential threats for unity, integrity and security of the nation. Ms. Hinduja N. A., Assistant Professor spoke on efforts of Vallabhbhai Patel in making the princely kingdoms concede with the dominion of India. The NSS student volunteers, teaching and non teaching staff took the pledge to preserve the unity and integrity of the nation and spread this message among the countrymen. The NSS student volunteers, NSS Programme Officer, Officer In-charge of Student Activities (OISA), teaching faculty enthusiastically participated in a short rally marathon around the premises of the college and Jaggaraopalle village to evoke the spirit of integrity among the people.
