Rythu Nestam live programme conducted at Electronic Wing Studio, PJTSAU, Hyderabad on 23.04.2024 from 10.00 AM – 12.15 PM with scientist from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), officials from department of agriculture along with farmers from 110 rythuvedika’s of Telangana. The programme started with Videos developed by Electronic Wing on Direct seeded rice production Technology and weed management in direct seeded rice followed by Dr P.Ranjitha, Asst. Professor (Agronomy), Dept. of Agronomy, PJTSAU session on “Direct seeded rice cultivation ” that encourages optimize resource use efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, reduces production cost and to build resilient farming systems. Also, explained various strategies to improve weed management which is essential for sustainable agriculture, as it helps maximize crop yields while minimizing nutrient losses through weed competition and environmental impacts. A progressive farmer Sri.R. Sudhakar Reddy, Eravelli village, Markuk mandal of Siddipet district shared his experience about direct seeded rice cultivation . Later Dr. Vijay Krishna, Scientist, Horticulture Research Station, Aswaraopeta, presented an extempore lecture on mango fruit fly management and quality management at Harvest. And the farmers queries from different Rythu Vedikas of Telangana were addressed. The Ryhtu Nestam live programme was attended by Dr.M.Sreenivasulu, Coordinator and Scientists of Electronic Wing ,Sri Singa Reddy DDA along with 4300 farmers and Department Officials form Agriculture and allied sectors at 110 Rythu Vedikas across the state.
